Vitinha missed out on top spots

Paris Saint Germain manager Luis Enrique believes Vitinha deserved a higher place in the Ballon d'Or rankings. The Portugal midfielder finished 14th in the voting. That comes a year after he finished third when team mate Ousmane Dembélé lifted the trophy.

PSG were named Men's Club of the Year at the 70th ceremony, placing ten of their players among the 30 nominees. Enrique praised Vitinha and stated that his level is incredible, adding that it is a real pleasure to have a player with such technical and physical ability.

PSG battle injuries ahead of Friday

The Ligue 1 leaders head to Stade Océane to face Le Havre on Friday. PSG beat Lyon 2-0 last weekend to move top of the table and are searching for their ninth straight win in all competitions.

However, several key players are out. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia finished sixth in the award voting but recently underwent surgery in Qatar on a torn anterior cruciate ligament. Dembélé, Nuno Mendes, and Marquinhos are also absent while they continue rehabilitation. Enrique noted that managing training loads is key to limiting injuries, though some problems remain hard to control in top flight football.

Facing bottom side Le Havre

Le Havre sit at the bottom of Ligue 1 without a win, but Enrique expects a tough match. He pointed out that the home side puts in plenty of crosses using their wingers and centre forward.

Enrique stressed that matches against teams considered weaker often present difficult moments. PSG want to hold their position at the top before upcoming matches against Villarreal in the Champions League and Troyes in domestic action.
