Swift milestone in the Clasico

Kylian Mbappe reached 100 goals for Real Madrid after scoring twice in last Sunday's Clasico win against Barcelona. The 27 year old needed only 116 matches to hit the century mark. He is now the 23rd highest scorer in the history of the club.

On the current roster, Vinicius Junior leads all scorers with 128 goals. Mbappe sits behind him, followed by Rodrygo with 71 goals and Jude Bellingham with 49 goals.

Beating club legends

Mbappe is the 24th player to score 100 goals for Real Madrid and the fifth fastest to do so. He reached the mark quicker than former stars Hugo Sanchez, who needed 142 games, and Ronaldo Nazario, who took 163 games.

Only four players reached 100 goals in fewer matches than Mbappe. Ferenc Puskas did it in 100 games, Cristiano Ronaldo in 106, Pahino in 111, and Alfredo Di Stefano in 114. Ronaldo remains top of the scoring charts with 451 goals in 438 matches.

Form and Ballon d'Or results

Mbappe said he was happy with the milestone, but stated that team victory and group success are what matter most. The French forward finished second behind Harry Kane for the Ballon d'Or, finishing ahead of Lamine Yamal.

Despite being the top scorer in LaLiga in both of his full seasons, Mbappe has not yet won a major trophy with Madrid. He has started this season with 14 goals in 13 matches. He arrived on a free transfer in June 2024 after scoring 256 goals for Paris Saint Germain and 27 for Monaco. He also scored 10 goals at the summer FIFA World Cup to become France's all time top scorer.
