NFL Investigates More Abuse Claims Against Packers Running Back Josh Jacobs
The NFL is reviewing new allegations of abuse against Josh Jacobs after police in Wisconsin released investigative files.

Fresh claims against Green Bay runner
The NFL is looking into new allegations of physical and verbal abuse involving Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs. The claims surfaced after the Hobart Lawrence Police Department made investigative files public.
According to the released documents, three women contacted the department to report abuse dating back to April 2021. Each woman came forward after learning about the arrest of Jacobs following a domestic violence incident in May. In response, the league confirmed it will examine these claims as part of an active inquiry.
Details inside the police files
The police release included body camera video, dash camera clips, and a 129 page report detailing the May 23 incident. A woman told investigators that Jacobs seemed enraged and made two attempts to strangle or suffocate her. She stated that she feared for her life.
The confrontation reportedly started when she questioned Jacobs about contact with other women. She alleged that Jacobs broke her phone, grabbed her by the neck in the garage, and threw her to the concrete floor. She reported losing consciousness, waking with blurry vision, and struggling to walk. Both Jacobs and the woman filed legal actions to prevent the release of garage surveillance video.
Jacobs was taken into custody on May 26 after a traffic stop. He pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges of battery and criminal damage to property.
Defense response and arrest footage
Attorneys David Z. Chesnoff, Richard A. Schonfeld, and Clarence F. Duchac III issued a statement on Saturday. They said the Brown County District Attorney had these old, uncorroborated claims for months before agreeing to a misdemeanor plea deal. They added that Jacobs has expressed remorse and complies with the terms of the agreement.
In dash camera recordings from his arrest, Jacobs spoke with an officer about the matter. He asked what a person can do to avoid such situations when they believe they did nothing wrong.
