Parker Washington and Jaguars Unlikely to Reach Extension Deal
Parker Washington and the Jacksonville Jaguars are unlikely to finalize a contract extension before the start of the 2026 season.

Contract talks put on hold
The Jacksonville Jaguars and wide receiver Parker Washington are unlikely to agree to a contract extension before the start of the regular season.
Negotiations took place ahead of the new year, but the sides remained without an agreement as of Saturday night. The Jaguars explored extension numbers in the range of the three year, $75 million deal recently signed by Michael Wilson with the Arizona Cardinals. With no contract finalized, Washington will enter the final season of his rookie deal and bet on his performance on the field in 2026.
Washington stays focused on the field
Washington addressed the ongoing contract discussions on Wednesday. The 24 year old wideout made it clear that the contract situation will not distract him from his responsibilities to the team on game days.
"To me, my job is to come out here and stay ready to go, just do my job, be the best receiver I can be and make plays for the team," Washington said. "I'm just focused on me, being the best teammate I can be and having fun out here."
He also added that he is prepared to play without an agreement in place. "If we get it done, that's cool. If not, I'm going to go out Sunday and leave my best out there," Washington said.
Strong production in 2025
Washington is entering the final year of his deal following a breakout 2025 campaign. The former sixth round draft selection established himself as a major contributor in the offense and on special teams.
Over the course of 2025, Washington set career highs across the board with 58 receptions for 847 yards and five receiving touchdowns. He also made an impact in the return game, adding two touchdowns as a punt returner last season.
