Ayesha Curry Takes the Lead

Ayesha Curry is set to star in a new holiday romantic comedy titled Second Chance Holiday. The movie premieres on Nov. 5 on Roku. This project marks her debut in a feature film leading role.

Roku announced the release date and shared the movie trailer on social media on Tuesday. The channel originally announced the film in July with Curry listed as the main star. Curry is married to Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry.

She will star alongside Matthew Daddario, who is the brother of actress Alexandra Daddario. Stephen Curry reacted to the trailer on X, calling Ayesha his leading lady. The four time NBA champion has been married to Ayesha for 15 years, and the couple has four children.

What to Expect From the Film

In the film, Ayesha Curry plays a dating expert named Chelsey. The character is trying to break a bad habit of getting dumped around the holiday season. She meets her high school crush, played by Daddario, and wonders if her luck is steering her toward her first love.

Curry praised the project when it was first announced. She said in a July statement that it was an honor to be part of the film alongside a talented cast and crew. She noted that holiday romantic comedies invite people into cozy worlds where anything feels possible. She added that she fell in love with playing Chelsey and hopes audiences enjoy the movie.

While this is her first leading role in a movie, Curry has worked in front of the camera before. She appeared in the animated movie GOAT, which her husband produced and appeared in. Her other television credits include Disney shows Hannah Montana and Good Luck Charlie, as well as the HBO series Ballers.
