Ejection in San Francisco

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green was ejected on Monday night during a home game against the Phoenix Suns in San Francisco. It marked his first ejection of the current season and the 31st ejection of his total career.

The sequence started with 10 minutes remaining in the third quarter. Green was defending Suns center Khaman Maluach under the hoop when Green was knocked to the floor. Green immediately bolted back up and grabbed Maluach for a personal foul. After the whistle blew, Green tossed Maluach to the floor. Officials labeled the action a throwdown, which resulted in Green receiving his first technical foul of the night.

Rivalry Sparks Double Technical

Phoenix Suns forward Dillon Brooks then entered the situation by sprinting from the top of the key to confront Green about the hard foul. The two longtime rivals grabbed each other's jerseys and locked into a brief staredown. Other players and officials had to step in and separate them.

After conducting a review of the incident, officials assessed a double technical foul on both Green and Brooks. That second technical triggered an automatic ejection for Green.

Career Ejection Record

This ejection was the 23rd regular season ejection of Green's 15 year career. On top of his regular season mark, he has been ejected eight times in playoff games. Green now has three technical fouls through six games this season.
