Arsenal Catch Man City After Everton Win
Arsenal beat Everton 2-0 to pull level on points with Manchester City at the top of the Premier League.

Gunners Gain Ground
Arsenal beat Everton 2-0 at home to pull level on points with Manchester City at the top of the Premier League. Ezri Konsa and Gabriel Magalhães scored the goals in each half during heavy rain and wind from Storm Austen.
The win allowed Mikel Arteta's side to close a three point gap. City suffered their first league defeat earlier in the day, losing 2-1 at Aston Villa. Arsenal now sit behind City only on goal difference.
Squad Strength On Display
Arsenal won despite missing Bukayo Saka, William Saliba, and Christos Tzolis through injury. Arteta rested regulars like Kai Havertz and Bruno Guimarães on the bench. Rare starts were given to Ben White, Mikel Merino, and Viktor Gyökeres.
Everton boss David Moyes praised Arsenal's depth, saying, "They have built the squad and strengthened year on year. They have a really strong squad because of it."
Arteta was also pleased with his squad. He said, "I'm very happy with the victory and performance given our terrible schedule this week. I loved the mentality of the team and the quality they showed today. We needed fresh legs and they all did really well."
Defense Holds Firm
Arsenal have scored 13 goals in eight games and conceded five times, which is the joint best defensive record alongside Brighton. Their only league defeat this season was a 3-0 loss at Brighton last month. They have since bounced back with wins against Leeds, Nottingham Forest, and Everton.
City are currently appealing a verdict from an independent commission that found them guilty of 114 financial charges. Arsenal continue to chase them on the pitch ahead of their big match at the Emirates on Nov. 29.
